The State of Play





Again a movie with an intresting Star Cast; Russell Crowe,Ben Affleck,Rachel McAdams,Helen Mirren to name a few.Its is an American Political Thriller adapted from a British 6 part series of the same name.The movie is Directed by Kevin McDonald.


Russell Crowe plays the part of the reporter Cal McAffrey.Ben Affleck plays the part of politician/Congressman Stephen Collins. Crowe has portrayed his character as a street smart reporter & an old school reporter who is after the absolute truth.Helen Mirren is cast as the ruthless editor... who is constantly after Cal for deadlines. She is solid, strong, showing the other person about who is in control... Helen had played her part beautifully... Its a treat to watch her. She has worked in the movie "Devil Wears Prada".But that image does not get carried over to this movie.Instead she has portrayed a very different character for the plot.


The movie is about a journalist's investigation in to death of a congressman's mistress.The movie also explores the angle of relationship between the press & the politicians & journalistic Independence.The main highlight of the film is the murder investigation.The relationship between Cal & Collins comes along the way when it is revealed that they are college buddies. Rachel McAdams plays the reporter whom Cal is mentoring.They have constant fights about their viewpoints,about the way the story is to be presented.Rachel portrays her character very well.She mirrors the character's (novice Reporter) insecurity,irritation,anxiety,fears very well.


In all, must Watch if you love thrillers.....

Appium Installation and Configuration under Mac OS

Awake , a photo by J.Madhavi on Flickr. We are already nearing the finish of the first month of the new year - 2013. Around 6-ish years since my first blog post. How fast time flies!! I haven't been regular in posting on my blog.It is due to a mix of laziness/nothing to write about. Living in northern india has its perks. First, is the proximity to the fascinating & enchanting himalayas. There are many trekking,touring spots that are within a day's drive. One such destination was Kufri. It is a silent hill-station near Shimla (Himachal Pradesh). An ideal destination to just get lost and far from the maddening crowd.
