Vantage Point

Going home on Weekends or any consequitive holidays means meeting friends,relatives acquaintances & most important catching up with some movies.
Usually I watch action movies or comedy or sometimes any recommendations or anything that goes with a good message and less on sexual content.

One of the movies I watched was Vantage Point. I was unaware of an such movie untill the weekend I went home. Here is a rundown on the movie.

Vantage Point(2008) is basically an American Thriller starring Dennis Quaid,Forest Whitaker,Matthew Fox. Vantage Point according to the Dictionary means "A position that affords a broad overall view or perspective, as of a place or situation".
The film's screenplay deals with the assasination of the American President from different Viewpoints.The Viewpoints shown are that of the
1. GNN News Producer - Rex Brooks (portrayed by Sigourney Weaver)
2. Secret Service Agent - Thomas Barnes (portrayed by Dennis Quaid)
3. Spanish police officer assigned to protect the mayor of Salamanca - Enrique
(portrayed by Eduardo Noriega Gómez a spanish Actor)
4. The American Tourist - Howard Lewis (portrayed by Forest Whitaker)
5. The American President - President Ashton (portrayed by William Hurt)
6. The Terrorist Leader - Suarez (Saïd Taghmaoui )

The film portrays the events happeing in approximately 25 minutes starting from 11:59:58am on the day US President Henry Ashton is in Salamanca, Spain to promote an international treaty designed to combat global terrorism. Each time the clock rewinds to 11:59:58 and starts with a new Vantage Point a new event unfolds & new details are added inching closer to the actual truth. Finally the truth is revealed.
Its a very Fast Paced film that keeps u gripped till the end.The only irritating thing about the whole film was the rewinding of the clock and starting from the event of the Presidents Assasination. Though that was a necessity of the storyline It was at times pretty irritating.
Also I don't remember ant dialogs from the film.All I remember is the storyline. Though I must admit that it was a novel way of directing a story.

If you want to catch a film that need not burden your brain & needs to be a thriller, then this film is definately a good watch.
