Trek to Korigad
It was India's 63rd Independence Day.Chakram Hikers had organised a trek to Korigad. I decided to be a part of the trek and am glad that I was able to be a part of it. There was a tree plantation scheduled along with a cleanliness drive. We started a 6:30am in the morning in a bus. We reached the base village "Peth Shahpur" at 9:30 am in the morning. After a breakfast of Poha and some tea; we started for Korigad. At the base of the fort;just after you leave the village is the famous "Amby Valley". All of the Amby valley can be seen from "Korigad" fort. The fort got it name from its shape (Koiri)/due to the temple of Koraidevi is situated at the top. The walls of the fort are still intact & one can walk along the perimeter of the walls. It is a big fort and the fort contains two lakes,temple of Korai Devi & temples of Lord Vishnu/Lord Shanker.
