Remember the cartoons on the Cover of our Mathematics textbooks? These drawings are by an artist known as S.D.Phadnis.S.D or shi.da.Phadnis as he is usually known is very much known due to his cartoons that grace the magzine covers of various marathi monthly/bi-monthly magzines such as Mohini etc. His Pictures are simple with no words at all.The pictures speak for themselves...... His style of humor is simple and usually finds humor even in routine situations.Even today it is great to see the artist's pictures and the artist as well.The Occasion was the exibhition of his cartoons (Hasari Gallery)that was held in Yashwantrao chavan gallery organised by the Rotary Club Of Shanivarwada. On Display were the cartoons of the artist's creation right from 60's till the most recent.Given along with this post are just a sample of his creativity....... School life is the most beautiful time in the lifetime of an individual.All schools are responsible to make an individual. Children study in school till they are of adolescent age,after that they just step in to the treshold of the real world. It is really fun to go back to the school days,... everybody cherishes them. Well i had a chance to visit a school and that too a primary school. I visited the annual gathering of the Bal Vikas Mandir School.The event was the felicitations of their meritrious students the ones who had appeared for the state scholarship examination.Well my brother was one of them and hence the chance. The function was held in the auditorium of Abasaheb Garware College.The atmosphere was electric and very infective.Small Children of various age groups were dressed in their best.Many of them dressed for their respective plays,dances or the Songs that they would be performing. The teachers dressed as if it was a festival,were putting the last touches before the event...
